Ingredients

  • 250 ml milk

  • 50 g butter

  • 1½ tbsp sugar

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1½ tsp yeast

  • 1 egg, separated

  • 400 g cake flour

  • 1 tsp cold water

  • Sesame seeds for decoration

Preparation

Step 1

Heat the milk on the stove until it reaches boiling point.


Step 2

Add the butter, sugar, and salt.


Step 3

Stir until the butter has melted.


Step 4

Let the mixture cool until lukewarm.


Step 5

Stir in the yeast and let it sit for 10 minutes.


Step 6

Beat in only the egg white.


Step 7

Add the flour.


Step 8

Mix until a smooth dough forms.


Step 9

Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth.


Step 10

Let the dough rise for 1 hour.


Step 11

Divide it into 24 pieces and shape your bagels.


Step 12

Let them rise for 10 minutes.


Step 13

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, place your bagels in the water and boil for 15 seconds on each side.


Step 14

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, place them on a baking tray, and bake in the oven at 200°C for 20 minutes.
